Pain is often passed down through relationships. Why?
Because sometimes it's easier for us to cause another person pain than it is to accept and heal our own.
In this episode, I take a look at the types of relationship cycles that I attract into my life. Upon reflection, I discover that the reason that I hurt other people is because I have been hurt in the same way.
My effort to keep other people at a distance only ends up causing them the pain that I am trying to avoid within myself. But protection doesn’t heal, compassion and love does.
Until we become aware and heal those wounds within ourselves, we’ll just keep hurting other people as a way to defend ourselves from experiencing certain pains again.
Only until we become honest with ourselves can we really begin gain awareness of both the pain we are harboring and the ones we are creating.
